SAN ANTONIO – A local dental restoration clinic is joining a growing movement to support military veterans, active-duty servicemen and women and their families.
Next Thursday, Oct. 8, marks this year’s Freedom Day USA, which aims to celebrate veterans, active duty personnel and their families by providing free goods and services.
Joining the thank you movement this year, for the first time, is Dr. Kye Mallornee’s Restoration Dental in Northwest San Antonio.
“This is our first time, but we’re really excited to participate. We’re in San Antonio, and the community has really invested in us,” Mallornee said. “We want to give back. That’s all it comes down to. I mean, these men and women do this daily. I think we can sacrifice one day.”
On Thursday, Mallornee will close his office to the general public for 12 hours to focus his time and efforts on those who have sacrificed much more.
Mallornee said the office will offer free preventative dental care like teeth cleaning, extractions and fillings.
“We’ll take our radiographs, do an evaluation to see what type of cleaning (they) may need, and (we) will provide that cleaning for them,” Mallornee said. “If you need any fillings or extractions or emergency base (services) and depending on time, we’ll try to do as much as we can for you within the means of the time allotted.”
All patient paperwork must be completed online ahead of your arrival to the clinic, so plan accordingly, Mallornee said.
